A great story with a twist!

I love how they performed this DART episode, for a fun kick you should listen to it on Innsmouth day (July 16th). I love the map that came with it too, very well done!

Love this one!

A great adaptation of the source material. I really enjoyed the production, music, and Proformance's in this program. The atmosphere is consistent throughout and my attention never left the speakers of my computer. I highly recommend this episode.

THE SHUDDER OVER INNSMOUTH

This was the first of the DART adaptations for which I had an earlier comparison, as BBC Radio (actual broadcast radio!) put out a dramatised reading of the tale by Richard Coyle in five half-hour episodes back in 2011. As might be expected of an organisation with a century of radio broadcasting expertise, that had beautifully atmospheric sound effects, if let-down slightly by Coyle’s apparent unfamiliarity with New England dialect when reading for Zadok Allen in a few places. The DART production is most definitely superior in that respect, as also in having a suitably diverse cast of other characters, while the sound effects and music are of comparably atmospheric excellence to those from the BBC version, making this another very welcome addition to my DART collection. The props in the “full” package are of the normal high HPLHS standard. Thus we can finally learn which “tabloid always discounted because of its wild policy” reported the torpedo attack into the deeps beyond Devil Reef; see the famed, oddly-proportioned Newburyport tiara, originally from Innsmouth; the Gilman House as illustrated on its own matchbook; and the town map drawn by the youthful First National Grocery store manager, complete with scratch-and-sniff “fishy” patches. A magnificent set with which to enjoy the tale afresh.

This is an Innsmouth to Visit

I have only downloaded three productions so far and this is by far my favorite. Shadow over Innsmouth is my favorite HPL story and this lived up to it.
